Not that it’s hard to find ways to waste time online. But if you’re ever bored and looking for something to catch your attention or distract you, popurls is probably the ticket (thanks to some search expert friends for the tip). It’s a mashup of all sorts of info feeds, including digg, reddit, flickr pics, youtube, slashdot, boingboing, google and yahoo news feeds, wired, odeo podcasts; you name it, and of course twitter. Man, if you can’t find something to click on with all that stuff you probably don’t have too many interests.
Given my background with internet dating, I found this article about a couple divorcing each other after discovering that they were each having an online affair — with each other as it turns out. The man writes, “To be honest I still find it hard to believe that the person, Sweetie, who wrote such wonderful things to me on the internet, is actually the same woman I married and who has not said a nice word to me for years.”
Life is strange.
