Support Steve in a charity ride

Posted on Thursday 6 September 2007

Hi Friends of Steve and readers of STJ;

UPDATE: I had a lot of fun on the ride and yes I completed the 50 miles; it took just over 3 hours.     Thanks to everyone who contributed — you donated over $500 to a very worthy cause!!

This Saturday morning– yes, that’s the day after tomorrow– I’m bicycling 50 miles in a charitable fundraiser called the 11th annual Cycle for Life, benefitting the Floating Children’s Cancer Center and the Child Life Program at Tufts-New England Medical Center. A colleague of mine asked me to do the ride and help out this good cause. What can I say? I’m late to the game since I’m just back from vacation, but I’m still going to try my best! I hope you will consider supporting me by making a pledge to this worthy program.

Small or large, any donation in support of my ride would be appreciated. You can donate online here . I’m riding on Peter Zane’s Fast Foodies team.

I recognize that this blog is about technology and not about fundraising, and I don’t want anyone to feel that they ought to contribute. But, hey, it is my blog, and if you look through the information and your heart is so moved to support our team/me with a donation of any amount, I would be very grateful. (And to stretch a tie in about tech, I’m planning a future post about some bike-related gadgetry)

Thank you so much for your consideration!

- Steve

PS Note that if you are looking at this post after the event, they still allow donations for a week or two following the ride.
