iPhone blah blah revolution blah blah iPhone blah steve jobs is god blah blah blah all bow before Apple blah blah… I had a large article in the National Post dropped on my desk today about how the iPhone is bound to fail. I’m not placing any bets yet. One way or the other, I think things are just starting to get rather interesting.

Funny. I’m actually ashamed that I bought an iPod.
I hope they get eaten alive in this market.

You’re clearly wrong. You said “blah blah blah,” but if you were a fanboy, you’d know that it’s really blah blah blahdih blah. Ugh. Mac hater.

Will iPhone be as successful as the Ipod? Will consumers abandon buying separate MP3 Players and phones for a device that fulfils both functions? Time will tell.

Im not an apple hater in any sence but im going to have to agree with Mike Elgan when he says Steve Jobs made a few mistakes. He introduced the iphones specs to soon so it gives apples competitors to come up with something. Its going to take a few sales away from iPods. It also ruined closed door talks with cisco. Also unfortunally the iphone will do far less than exsisting smartphones. I was thinking about getting an iphone until i realized it was half the phone my treo is. Owning a zune i dont need 8 gigs on a phone for movies. Wall street will also be dissatisfied with this move he quoted 10million phones to be sold by 2008 which is impossible… what a waste of a phone.

i agree with Aaron for the most part, but i do have to say, there is a whole lot of cool technology crammed into the thing. i really enjoy the idea of normal web-browsing on a phone. Steve, in my opinion, deserves at least some credit for that. but $600.00 is way too much.

I cannot wait for this Product to come to the UK, I have 2 phones both with varying PDA functions wished they were both merged into one, life will be a lot easier and because I travel on the the train a lot I do have my music on the go (Ipod). I have often wondered what life would be like if carried just one device that allowed me to make calls, organise my schedules and documents and surf the web. I just hope the Battery Life is better than what we got on the Ipods and comes without the £50.00 bbattery replacement charge they currently ask for.
I wonder how long we will have to wait for and no doubt we will be paying double the price……our friends across the pond are so lucky.

I find the iPhone useless and expensive for the fact that I owned the phone for a week because on the 4th day of activation it stopped working. My calls kept dropping and once on a call the screen kept flashing on and off, by the 4th day the screen showed NO SERVICE now I was told that it was a malfunction of the phone not my phone carrier because I called the iPhone in which we did some trouble shooting (master reset, changed sim card) and I even went to the store (where I bought the phone) 4 days in a roll, and the problem was never resolved. Either way I returned the phone and got my most of my money back – I was charged a 10 percent restocking fee actually I got a credit note which is still pending; I should receive w/in 10 business days. Just for the record I love my cell phone carrier, the problem is w/ apple.
    Worst EXPERIENCE ever!
