Microsoft and MCI team up for worst name of the year

That’s right, I’ll just give you a call on my “MCI Web Calling for Windows Live Call” shall I? Come on guys, can’t you at least sprinkle a few ™’s into that? Then again, at rates “starting at 2.3 cents a minute”, I guess you aren’t expecting many people to use it …

The lesson of Skype is that simplicity of the user experience is everything, even if it’s pronouncing the product name when you recommend it to your friends.

And the lesson of Martin is that the correct price of a voice call is free.

On other news, Jeff talks about about Yahoo’s lame Phone-Out service. But Jeff, they come in 5 words shorter than Microsoft and MCI on their product name …

    Good post!

    I agree, what possible abbreviation could even fathom to simplify such a ridiculously exasperating name?!
